Steam Setup

Bring your Steam games into the same library as your emulators. Start with the Steam tile in Add System.

Connect your account​

  1. Open Systems and choose Add System.
  2. Select Steam.
  3. Sign in through the Steam account flow.
  4. Review the connected profile.
  5. Choose which games to import.
  6. Complete the wizard.

The normal web sign-in needs no Steam API key. Use the API-key fallback when web sign-in fails.

For the API-key path, review Steam's profile and game-detail visibility settings shown in the wizard. Public visibility applies to online API library access, rather than every import route.

Import local games​

Use the local-only option when you want installed games without online account import. Confirm Steam recognizes the games on this machine first.

The wizard also offers local-game and family-shared-game choices alongside online imports.

Sync the library​

Open Sync Steam Library for the Steam system.

  • All owned games includes games available to the account, including uninstalled entries.
  • Only installed games limits the library to games installed on this PC.
  • Include family-shared games adds eligible shared titles.

HyperHQ saves these choices for later syncs. Changing scope removes out-of-scope entries and their artwork from HyperSpin. Your Steam purchases and installed game files stay under Steam's control.

Automatic refresh​

With automatic import enabled, saved sync choices also apply after returning from a managed Steam fullscreen visit or completing an installation in a Linux fullscreen session.

Leave HyperHQ open while the sync runs. Review Activity for progress or tasks needing attention.

Desktop Steam visits outside the managed fullscreen flow do not establish the same return-triggered behavior. Run Sync Steam Library when you need a manual refresh.

Reconnect Steam​

An expired connection opens Reconnect Steam instead of the sync choices. Select Connect Steam, sign in, then run sync again.

Offline use​

Steam offline play depends on Steam's cached account state and the game. Sign in and launch the game online first.

Test one installed game offline before using an offline cabinet setup. Online library refresh and account reconnection still require a connection.

Common fixes​

An installed game is missing​

Confirm Steam finished installing the game. Review the saved scope and run Sync Steam Library.

A shared game is missing​

Enable Include family-shared games and confirm the account has access through Steam.

A game launches the wrong Steam account​

Check the connected profile and Steam's active account. Reconnect the intended account before syncing.
