Arcade Emulator Setup

Arcade libraries use several launch styles. Keep ROM names unchanged because many emulators identify games by their set name.

MAME​

Use the dedicated MAME wizard for installation, ROM paths, filters, parent and clone choices, and collections.

FinalBurn Neo​

FinalBurn Neo works through RetroArch or the standalone emulator.

ChoiceBest fit
RetroArchOne shared setup for arcade and console systems.
Standalone FinalBurn NeoAn existing standalone collection or separate arcade settings.

Keep ROM files zipped. Do not rename the files to their full game titles.

Sega Model 2​

Model2 launches games by set name.

  1. Install and configure Model2 outside HyperHQ.
  2. Add Model2 manually from Platforms.
  3. Add a Sega Model 2 system.
  4. Select the ROM folder and Model2.

Sega Model 3 with Supermodel​

  1. Install Supermodel from Platforms.
  2. Add a Sega Model 3 system.
  3. Select your ROM folder and Supermodel.
  4. Test one game.

Keep the recommended launch setting from HyperHQ. Older set-name commands do not fit every Supermodel game layout.

TeknoParrot​

TeknoParrot launches each game through an XML profile.

  1. Add and configure games inside TeknoParrot.
  2. Find the UserProfiles folder in the TeknoParrot installation.
  3. Add a TeknoParrot system in HyperHQ.
  4. Select UserProfiles as the game folder.
  5. Use XML as the file extension.
  6. Select TeknoParrot as the platform.

HyperHQ matches each wheel entry to a profile filename. Keep profile filenames unchanged.

Hypseus Singe​

Hypseus Singe uses game names together with frame files.

  1. Install Hypseus Singe from Platforms.
  2. Confirm the game starts inside the emulator.
  3. Add the system and select the folder holding your frame files.
  4. Test one game before importing the rest.

Flycast​

Flycast covers Dreamcast, Naomi, and related arcade hardware. Some games need BIOS files.

Add each hardware family as its own HyperHQ system. Separate systems keep media and platform choices easier to manage.

When a game fails​

  1. Test the same ROM in the emulator.
  2. Confirm the ROM set matches the emulator version.
  3. Restore the original ROM filename.
  4. Check required BIOS files.
  5. Review Settings, HyperHQ, Logs.
