Pinball Platform Setup

Pinball platforms launch table files. Backglass, cabinet, and controller setup stays inside the pinball software.

Visual Pinball X

  1. Install and configure Visual Pinball X.
  2. Open one table and confirm its supporting files work.
  3. Add Visual Pinball X manually from Platforms.
  4. Add a pinball system in HyperHQ.
  5. Select the folder containing VPX table files.
  6. Select Visual Pinball X.

Keep table support folders and scripts in the locations expected by Visual Pinball X.

Future Pinball

  1. Install and configure Future Pinball.
  2. Open one table directly.
  3. Add Future Pinball manually from Platforms.
  4. Add a pinball system and select the table folder.

HyperHQ opens the selected table in play mode and returns after Future Pinball closes.

Cabinet setup

Configure cabinet displays, backglass output, DMD placement, and controller mappings inside the pinball platform first. HyperHQ starts the table after the platform is ready.

Common problems

The editor opens instead of play mode

Open the platform in HyperHQ and restore the recommended launch setting.

A table starts without its backglass

Test the table directly in the pinball platform. Confirm the backglass filename matches the table and the cabinet display is enabled.
