Animation Chat Assistant

Skip the menus. Just tell HyperTheme what you want.

The Animation Chat Assistant lets you control layers and animations using natural language. Instead of hunting through animation lists or adjusting timeline sliders, describe what you want and the assistant handles it.

Opening the Chat​

Press Ctrl+/ (or Cmd+/ on Mac) to open the chat panel.

A text box appears where you can type commands. The assistant understands context—it knows which layer you have selected and what animations already exist.

Animation Commands​

Adding Animations​

Tell the assistant what effect you want:

  • "Add a fade in to the logo"
  • "Make this layer slide in from the left"
  • "Add a bounce effect"
  • "Apply a pulse animation"
  • "Add a rotation that loops"

The assistant picks the appropriate animation type and applies sensible defaults.

Modifying Animations​

Adjust existing animations without touching the timeline:

  • "Set the delay to 2 seconds"
  • "Make it slower"
  • "Speed up the fade"
  • "Change the duration to 1.5 seconds"
  • "Set easing to bounce"

Removing Animations​

Clean up animations quickly:

  • "Remove the rotation animation"
  • "Delete the fade effect"
  • "Remove all animations"
  • "Clear animations from this layer"

Copying Animations​

Transfer animation setups between layers:

  • "Copy animations from layer 1 to layer 3"
  • "Apply the same animations as the logo"
  • "Duplicate these animations to the title"

Staggering Animations​

Create sequenced effects across multiple layers:

  • "Stagger animations by 0.2 seconds"
  • "Add a 0.1 second delay between each animation"

Mirroring Animations​

Flip animation directions:

  • "Mirror the animation horizontally"
  • "Reverse the slide direction"

Querying Animations​

Ask about the current state:

  • "What animations does this layer have?"
  • "List all animations"
  • "Show me the current animation settings"

Layer Commands​

Selecting Layers​

Switch between layers by name or number:

  • "Select the logo"
  • "Switch to layer 3"
  • "Select the background layer"

Duplicating Layers​

Create copies with all properties intact:

  • "Duplicate the background"
  • "Copy this layer"
  • "Make a copy of the title"

Deleting Layers​

Remove layers from the project:

  • "Delete layer 2"
  • "Remove this layer"
  • "Delete the subtitle"

Renaming Layers​

Give layers meaningful names:

  • "Rename this layer to hero"
  • "Call this layer main-logo"
  • "Change the name to background-glow"

Reordering Layers​

Adjust layer stacking order:

  • "Bring to front"
  • "Send to back"
  • "Move up"
  • "Move down one layer"
  • "Put this behind the logo"

Property Commands​

Position​

Move layers on the canvas:

  • "Move the layer 100 pixels right"
  • "Set position to 500, 300"
  • "Shift left by 50 pixels"
  • "Center this layer"
  • "Move to the top right"

Scale​

Resize layers:

  • "Double the size"
  • "Scale to 50%"
  • "Make it twice as big"
  • "Shrink to half"

Rotation​

Rotate layers:

  • "Rotate 45 degrees"
  • "Turn 90 degrees clockwise"
  • "Flip upside down"

Alpha/Visibility​

Control transparency:

  • "Set opacity to 50%"
  • "Make it semi-transparent"
  • "Hide this layer"
  • "Show the layer"
  • "Set alpha to 0.75"

The assistant understands conversational commands. You don't need to memorize exact syntax:

Tips​

Layer Selection

Reference layers by name ("the logo", "background") or number ("layer 3"). The assistant matches the closest layer to what you describe.

Timing

All timing values are in seconds, not milliseconds. "2 seconds" or just "2" both work.

Context Awareness

The assistant knows which layer is currently selected. Commands like "make it fade in" apply to the selected layer automatically.

Animation Library

The assistant works with all 63+ animation types available in HyperTheme. You can request any animation by name or describe the effect you want and the assistant will pick the best match.

What It Can't Do​

The chat assistant is for animation workflow, not asset generation. It won't:

  • Create or generate images
  • Find or download media files
  • Design layouts for you
  • Write theme descriptions

For those tasks, use the asset library and manual design tools.
