Pinball FX Steam Setup

HyperHQ includes a guided wizard for setting up Pinball FX games that launch through Steam.

  1. Systems → Add System
  2. Select Category: "Pinball"
  3. Select System: Pick one of:
    • Pinball FX (Steam App ID: 2328760)
    • Pinball FX2 (Steam App ID: 226980)
    • Pinball FX3 (Steam App ID: 442120)
  4. Point to Game Folder — select the folder containing your .fxt table files
    • Typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pinball FX\Data\
  5. Extensions auto-populate — the wizard automatically sets: fxt|pxp|zip|7z
  6. Steam Launch step (optional) — toggle "Yes" to launch through Steam
    • HyperHQ auto-detects steam.exe (or browse manually if not found)
    • The command line is configured automatically behind the scenes
  7. Cabinet Mode reminder — an info card reminds you to enable Cabinet Mode in Pinball FX settings
  8. Save — complete the wizard to create the system with the Steam emulator configured

After Setup

Launch Pinball FX normally through Steam once and go to Settings → Display → Enable Cabinet Mode for the proper arcade cabinet experience with separate playfield, backglass, and DMD displays.

  • Verify Steam is installed and running
